1st Annual Touch-A-Truck in Allen Township: A Free Family Event in Northampton PA

Allen Township is rolling out the big vehicles for its very first Touch-A-Truck event, and it is the perfect summer outing for families in the Northampton and Lehigh Valley area.

The 1st Annual Touch-A-Truck takes place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Howertown Park in Northampton, Pennsylvania. Parking is available at 10 Short Lane. Admission is completely free.

What Is Touch-A-Truck?

Touch-A-Truck is a free, family-friendly community event where kids of all ages can climb on, explore, and learn about the vehicles that serve their community. It is hands-on, it is fun, and it gives children a chance to get up close with the real trucks and equipment they see every day.

Get up close with fire trucks, ambulances, public works equipment, utility vehicles, heavy machinery, and more. Climb aboard, explore, and meet the community heroes who keep Allen Township running.

This year's lineup includes vehicles and equipment from local emergency services, public works, utility companies, and community organizations. Fire trucks from the fire department, ambulances from EMS, vehicles from the Sheriff's Department, front-end loaders, dump trucks, construction equipment, and more. Whether your kid is into fire trucks, construction vehicles, or police SUVs, there is something for everyone.

But the fun does not stop with the trucks. There will be free hot dogs and Kona Shaved Ice while supplies last. It is a full day of community fun for the whole family.
